A few months ago, I went to the grocery store before work. I wanted to grab a quick frozen meal for lunch. With few healthy options near my workplace, this was great.
Hear me out, I know frozen meals are packed with preservatives and sodium. However, if you choose wisely, a frozen healthy meal can work wonders.
Upon getting to the two aisles, the strangest thing happened. It seems that both of the pathways were blocked. Someone had placed several carts to stop people from going there. Even the opposite end was closed as well.
Not sure if there was a spill or some other hazard. Whatever the reason, time was ticking away, so I devised another plan. Getting lunch was my focus, nothing more and nothing less.
Walking to the produce department, I grabbed a bag of premade salad. Next to get were precooked chicken, salad dressing, and black olives. Thankfully, those aisles were open and easy to retrieve my items.
My plan of popping lunch into the microwave was drastically changed. Instead, I ended with a much healthier lunch. Which, by the way, was delicious. It was way better than the meal I intended to buy.
Later that day, I thought about the grocery carts blocking my path. They looked intentionally placed to stop me from getting through. To me, it was just that. Intentional.
Sometimes, God places obstacles in our way to stop us from things we shouldn’t do. He deliberately gives us detours and roadblocks so we can’t go a certain way.
It’s not to harm us but to protect us from harm. The next time you see a roadblock, don’t get frustrated. Just thank God for another way.
Change is not easy, trust me, because I can tell you some stories. Know this: before changing anything, you have to change your way of thinking. That way, you will be able to fully embrace the new you.
I’ll be posting my new change in an upcoming post later this month or in August. Tell me what your change is.
