Jesus Take the Wheel
By Desiree Future

One day I was driving in the far-right lane of a three-lane highway. Ahead near my turn, I saw an eighteen-wheeler tractor-trailer. As I neared the tractor, although the light had changed, the tractor remained in the same spot. Getting closer, I realized the truck was parked in the lane instead of turning. Another car had gotten behind me just as I put on my left blinker to go around the stopped truck. As I did that the non-moving truck decided to make an illegal U-turn across two rows of traffic into a one-way street right in front of me. I was face to face with a red semi with me going south and it going north. Fear ravaged my body at the sight ahead of me. Then God stepped in and literally took the wheel as I clung tight to the steering wheel turning as far left as I could. I felt like I was drag racing as my car swiftly glided to the far left side of the highway while leaning on my horn and getting around the truck. At that moment I knew it was God stepping in as He always does. My heart stopped pounding and my breathing went back to normal as I shouted Thank you, Jesus.
Have you ever been in a situation where you were face to face with a potential disaster? Not having enough time to think of what to do? If you do you are like everyone else in this world including me. The clock ticks away as if a time bomb is about to go off and you must make a decision in split seconds. What do you do when you have to do something? You call out to Jesus that is what you do. If the words can’t escape through your tightly clenched teeth, then you say it from your heart.
At a recent doctor’s appointment, a med student asked me what my secret was to looking so young. My reply was simple. I keep God in my life. When you keep God in your life for everything both good and bad, He will make everything better. Not to say you will not go through trials and tribulations. But to say those will make you stronger when you come out. Keep God in your life and Jesus will take the wheel. Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
