How Many Times Has God Caught You?

My friend and I picked up our morning tea a few weeks ago and headed to work. While inside the building we continued talking as usual and I had just walked up maybe one of the three steps. A mere few feet away from my door the unthinkable happened.

Surprisingly, I found myself being lunged forward. Unbeknown to myself, I inadvertently blocked my view as I placed my small wristlet carrying my phone to my face. All while trying to use a voice command to stop my phone alarm. That was a huge mistake, to say the least.

By God’s grace, I managed to regain my footing without falling. After my friend made sure I was ok we sat down and had a good laugh about it. It’s not every day that you almost fall in full view of the security cameras while still holding your hot cup.

Later that same week I heard a song on the gospel radio station while driving to work. I can’t remember the exact name of the song or the artist. However, it said something about God catching you when you fall.

At that moment, I realized my hilarious almost tumble was God catching me. I may not have been the most graceful while trying to steady myself, but God held me. He stopped me from imminent danger as He always does.

God tells you to go left instead of right and you do as He says. Thirty minutes later, on your way back you find out there was a three-car accident that happened mere minutes after you turned left. That was God making sure you weren’t the fourth car.

After waiting in the long checkout line at the grocery store, the cash register breaks down and you have to go to another long line. You decide you don’t need the few items anyway. Getting to your car, you see your wallet on the ground next to your car door. God caught you before anybody could find it and take your rent money and credit cards.

How many times has God caught you and you brushed it off as pure luck? Things like losing your job or having a door closed for something that you want. This is God’s way of saying I have something better for you.

He’ll give you a job you didn’t know you qualified for, nor did you apply for. Let that door close because God is opening a window for you. All you have to do is believe in Him and everything is possible.
