Wisdom Wednesday – Dr. Mae Jemison First African American Astronaut

Dr. Mae Jemison made history when she became the first African American astronaut. Reviewing her quote brought me back to a time where other people’s opinions mattered to me.

Years ago I would change my plans like going to the movies. All because a person thought it wasn’t a good idea because we could watch a movie at home. Meanwhile that particular movie was only in theaters.

Someone from my past told me not to buy a certain shoe because my burn scars on my feet would show even more. That lady bought the shoes she insisted wouldn’t work for me.

After leaving those people behind I realized I had let them live my life based on their opinions and insecurities. God didn’t give me my life to let others live for me.

He gave it to me to life for Him. So I shape my live to life for His glory and non one else’s. After all, He is the one who gave it to me. Who are you living for?
