Embracing Change for Your New Beginnings

Today is September 1, 2024, and I can’t understand where the time went. It seemed like yesterday it was the beginning of the summer. The temperatures were beginning to rise.
Everyone was making plans to enjoy the great outdoors. Or indoors if that is your preference. The pools were opening, and the zoos had longer hours.
The boardwalks would be filled with so many people that you had to walk hand in hand so you wouldn’t lose your companion. The delicious smells from outdoor food vendors sent your nose into a wild frenzy. The shows entertained you as you relished in the warm weather.
Now that the summer is officially over, it doesn’t mean that everything stops. No ma’am, no sir, and no chance. You might need a light jacket because it gets a little cooler.
My favorite type of weather is where a coat and hat are optional rather than necessary. I love how the leaves magically transform as they shed their summer skin if you will. Almost as if they are maturing into something beautiful.
Kids returning to school from summer break because they have advanced to a new grade. It’s the same thing as times take on a different meaning. This is Fall to me as it’s the start of a new beginning.
Our lives are just like the seasons. It’s letting go of something old to embark on something original. You might not want to put away your favorite sandals for a pair of closed-toe shoes. Trust me I have a pair I don’t want to put away either.
Moving in various directions means learning many unique lessons you wouldn’t have if you sat still. Like the leaves maturing, the sky gets darker earlier and cooler temperatures come along they are a sign of growth.
Ephesians 4:20-24 2 0 That, however, is not the way of life you learned 21 when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
