Let Your Voice Be Heard

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13

When God made you, He made you special. You may not have been born with a silver spoon in your mouth. You may not have grown up in the best part of town. Yet, God gave you something far more outstanding.

He gave you the gift of your voice.

Your voice is that powerful sound coming from deep within your soul. Expressing yourself by writing a poem, story, or a full-length novel. This creativity brings a smile to your face. This is your talent that God has bestowed upon you.

Fear holds us back from using our voices.

After having cancer and going through the grueling chemotherapy treatment I was scared to begin writing again. I didn’t know if I still had the will to continue creating stories. The thought of letting anyone read my new compositions paralyzed me with fear.  Though writing is my passion I feared the unknown.

The thought of failing at something we really love is also the obstacle that stops us in our tracks.

So, how can we pick up our pens or put our fingers on the keyboard and start writing again? We ask God to give us strength.

Philippians 4:13 reads “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  

This verse got me through my illness and helped me carry on with my love of writing. It can help you too.

Just as a child is learning to walk for the very first time, puts one foot in front of the other, and moves forward, we take one step at a time.

Yes, we will fall more than once but you must keep getting up, just like a toddler doesn’t give up. We have a story to tell that someone needs to hear. The power of words can heal wounds to those who hear our stories.
