One day my friends and I were outside enjoying the beautiful fall weather. The sun was shining and no jackets were necessary because of the unseasonably high temperature.

With a city that resembles bustling New York City, you’re bound to see something interesting every day. Maybe it’s a woman standing on a corner wearing what looks like a bra on top of her clothing, or a lost possum looking for food after being evicted from its home due to the huge amount of construction nearby. You are surely bound to see something out of the ordinary.

This particular day though, we witnessed God’s grace. Cars were waiting for a light to change at a busy intersection. Before the light could change we saw the unthinkable.

An impatient driver decided they didn’t want to wait for the light. They crossed the double lines and drove past others waiting. Just as they did a woman was crossing in the crosswalk.

Trying to run the red light the vehicle narrowly missed the woman by mere inches. Onlookers and I instantly held our breath as the unknowing woman escaped uncertain harm or death.

By God’s grace, she was not hit by the red-light runner. It’s times like that when we see just how God protects us from harm and danger.

You pray That God will give you the car of your dreams. Saving up money and sticking to your budget you finally had enough money put away. Test driving the car you would instantly in love. Then the unexpected fees piled on to the price of the car causing you to leave your dream car behind.

Weeks later you see that same car still at the dealership because it had more problems than you knew. That was God’s way of saving you.

Out to lunch and you order a burger without tomatoes because you are allergic. While the waiter is on his way to bring you your meal he accidentally drops the entire tray which had tomatoes on the burger. That was God protecting you.

We might not know it or even realize it but God is constantly blessing us. He does that by keeping us safe. Whether it be harm to ourselves or from others. He’s a father who always takes care of his children.

Ephesians 2 : 8-9 What it is by grace you have been saved through faith and this is not from yourselves It is a gift of God. Not by works so that no one can boast.
