Smile because you are beautiful with all of your flaws and imperfections.

Hi, I’m Desiree Future, a Self-Improvement Blogger who writes to inspire & encourage others. As everyone needs a little motivation every now & then including myself.

July has been a busy month for me. Between working my day job, this blog, and other things it has been extremely event filled. I’ve had to make a few adjustments in my daily life. Changes that I’d rather not do but are nonetheless necessary.

While performing one particular task, I discovered something I didn’t know. I found out that I had more umph, if you will than I thought I had. Knowing that I can do something is great. Pushing myself out of necessity to worlds unknown is scary and awesome at the same time.

With the prices of gluten-free foods being out of my price range, making homemade wheat-free cookies was my only option. When doing new things, I’ve learned patience is the key. As well as understanding mistakes are just mistakes. Not the end of the world

After a few trials and errors. Okay more errors than I wish for, God whispered in my ear. He said, “Trying is better than doing nothing.” How profound is that?

I was there trying to figure out why my homemade cookies didn’t look right. I placed them in the oven for the correct amount of time according to the recipe. But they looked like a white sheet of paper.

God was telling me whether I made them right or wrong, I was at least trying. I wasn’t taking my diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome lying down. Instead, I made a conscious decision to fight it head-on with my diet change.

I’m in my kitchen every weekend trying a different gluten-free recipe because I need to eat. With a table full of ingredients, I’ve barely heard of, I’m enjoying myself. That is whether my food comes out tasty or throw in the garbage bad. I’m having fun.

I took a step in the right direction to benefit myself in my everyday life. As opposed to making a permanent dent in my couch and accepting my situation.

In life, we are constantly faced with challenges. How you handle them determines the type of person that you are. I’m the person who refuses to accept No for an answer. Where I might be turned down one place, I’ll go somewhere else until I get a Yes.

Have you tried something new and to your surprise, you love it? If so, then let me be the first to congratulate you on expanding your horizon. If not, then what are you waiting for? There’s a whole world full of great things just waiting to be discovered.

  2. This is needed advice…trying is better than doing nothing, thank you. My daughter tries to avoid gluten so she is always making gluten free recipes too. Keep up the good work. You have inspired me to keep trying new things.

    1. Thanks, Dawn. The pro of gluten-free eating is my stomach has gotten a whole lot better. The cons are that its very challenging when eating out as there aren’t many options if options at all. As well as needing a second job to afford the food. Gluten-free foods are extremely expensive. As the sale finder I am, I’m always looking for budget-friendly prices. LOL

Glad to inspire you. Thanks for reading & take care.
